On October 20, 1898, Fayetteville established its present waterworks system.
In 1944 the Tennessee Department of Public Health officially recognized the system as "a public water supply."
Today, our system produces more than 1.9 million gallons of potable (drinkable) water per day for our customers. We have the capability of producing 3.5 million more gallons of water per day remaining for the future growth of our community.
