NATURAL GAS PILOT
LIGHTING SERVICE

Fayetteville Public Utilities’ (FPU) natural gas pilot lighting service policy is designed to define the guidelines of igniting natural gas pilot lights for customers of FPU.

Effective September 1, 2020, FPU will only offer the free natural gas pilot lighting service during the “Free Fall Light Up” period (as defined below).

Any requests not during the “Free Fall Light Up” period will incur a $30.00 service fee during business hours (8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.) or a $50.00 service fee after business hours. This service fee is the responsibility of the customer.

To ensure safety, FPU does not provide the natural gas pilot lighting service until a premise is occupied and a customer who is listed on the account is present.

“Free Fall Light Up” period:
FPU will offer a free fall light up of pilot lights for natural gas heating appliances between the 2nd Monday of September and the last business day of October. This free service is only available Monday – Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
