FPU installs new technology to better serve the community

     Fayetteville Public Utilities (FPU) is in the process of changing customers’ meters with new technology in order to better serve our community. This new technology and service are at no cost to the customer. During this time of transition, customers may notice the words “Meter Exchange” on their monthly bill. There are two separate lines on the customer’s bill in the month the meter is changed. One line is for the previous meter and the other is for the new meter. However, there is only one line where the customer’s usage cost is provided. This is a combined kilowatt hours (kWh) cost for both meters.

    This new technology in no way reflects the need for workforce reduction at FPU. This service only helps provide the best service we can give our customers.
