Fayetteville Public Utilities recently upgraded 1.2 miles of single-phase electric line along West Lincoln Road to 3-phase to increase capacity and accommodate the growing electric load in the area.
FPU set 42 new Class 2 wooden poles and installed larger conductor to ensure system reliability in the area that is served from its Park City Substation.
In addition to enhancing reliability, the upgraded circuit also gives FPU the capability to switch electric load from circuit 4-3 to 4-2 as growth continues in order to balance electric supply to the area as needed.
FPU crews are now focusing on system improvements in the Radio City area inside the Fayetteville city limits.
