FPU employees hold golf tourney benefitting Parker

The employees of Fayetteville Public Utilities are hosting a golf tournament to benefit Curtis Parker, a fellow employee who is battling colon cancer. The golf tournament is slated for Saturday, May 30th, at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Fayetteville.

The tournament features two flights. The first flight begins at 7:30 am with the second flight at 12:30 pm. Tee times will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Registration for each four-person team is $400 which includes green fees, golf cart rental and steak lunch. The steak lunch will be provided for all registered flight participants and served at 11:00 am.

Registration forms are available at FPU’s office at 408 West College Street. Completed team registration forms and entry fees should be submitted by May 15th to Fayetteville Public Utilities, Attention: Katie Burk, P.O. Box 120, Fayetteville, TN  37334. Checks should be made payable to Curtis Parker Benefit. Team registrations are non-refundable.

All proceeds from the golf tournament will assist FPU’s Curtis Parker with medical expenses. Curtis, 30, began working at FPU as an equipment operator of the gas, water and wastewater maintenance crew.

He was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2014 and, since that time, has undergone surgery and both radiation and chemotherapy in his fight against the disease. Through it all, Curtis continues to work at FPU, remains positive about his outcome and is grateful for the support the community has shown him and his family.

Please contact Katie Burk at (931) 433-1522, ext. 125 or email her at kburk@fpu-tn.com if you have questions about the tournament.
